The World Sports quoted Catalan Radio and Television that a key meeting will be held next Monday to decide whether the Camp Nou Stadium can reopen during the league match between Barcelona and Valencia on the weekend of September 13-14.
After a field visit to the stadium renovation on Tuesday, Catalonia Radio revealed that a new round of meetings will be held, and Deputy Mayor Raya Bonnet, Fire Chief, City Guard Head and Barcelona Espai Barça Project Head will attend together to decide whether the stadium is in the condition of restarting.
According to the above report, during the inspection today, representatives of the fire department and city guards were present. They found that there were some defects in the identification system, external lighting, emergency passages and stairwells, and the construction area fence construction and construction waste removal work were not completed. In addition, the press release area and the room where the security camera control center are located are also not completed.
The home locker room is expected to be unfinished when Camp Nou restarts, but the two away team locker rooms are ready. However, Catalan Radio pointed out that one of the rooms is almost vacant, and there is still a problem of uneven ground on the site, some catering areas have not been completed, and the Red Cross Medical Center needs to be improved.
A lot of work is still needed to make the return to the Camp Nou a reality, so Barcelona is still waiting to sign the final engineering certificate for the South Stand and South Goal Zone, which is a necessary procedure for applying for a first-time use license.
Barcelona is still confident in achieving a plan A to return to Camp Nou, but the time margin is becoming increasingly urgent. If permission is not available in time, the Montvik Olympic Stadium has been put on the agenda as an alternative to Plan B.
