RMC reported that Zidane attended a pop culture exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland, last Saturday, but the event ended up being disorganized and "false propaganda", sparking outrage among fans.

According to reports, the organizers had previously made great publicity, promising that Zidane would have "unique" close interactions with fans, including autograph sessions, question and answer sessions, and even a "play with fans" football match. However, fans found that the commitment was severely "shrunk" at the scene: the so-called "pk with the fans" game turned into a game between Zidane and a local women's football team; and the originally scheduled key autograph session and question and answer session were "simply cancelled."

This resulted in the expectations of on-site fans (including fans with VIP passes) being completely disappointed. The angry crowd broke into several altercations with staff, shouting "You are liars!" and "I want a refund!" A father who spent 1,300 euros to buy three VIP tickets said angrily that not only were they unable to get close contact with Zidane, but the promised private lounge and lunch could not be fulfilled, and the staff could not even provide guidance.

Faced with about 50 complaints received, the event director blamed the cancellation on safety issues. He claimed that as soon as Zidane appeared, the scene was almost out of control. He saw "a child squeezed on the guardrail," "some people jumped over the guardrail," and even "a father threw his son in the direction of Zidane."

The campaign argued: "We don't want to be the first to send a child to the coma room." He insisted that Zidane had taken more than 300 photos under the protection of about 15 bodyguards, but these reasons obviously failed to calm the anger of fans.
