Nico Gonzalez will become Atletico Madrid's eighth new player this summer. The 27-year-old Argentine player is currently undergoing a physical examination and preparing to sign with the club. He will play on loan for one year, but if he reaches a certain playing time in the game, the contract will automatically be extended to 2030.
It is reported that once the physical examination is passed, Nico Gonzalez will visit Atletico Madrid home and complete the signing procedures, officially starting his Bedsheet Legion career. However, this will still be subject to approval from La Liga to ensure that its joining does not cause players in the existing roster to leave the team.
According to the preliminary plan, Nico will join Atletico Madrid on loan for one year, with a cost of 1 million euros. If he reaches a certain playing time this year, the €35 million buyout clause between Juventus and Atletico Madrid will become enforced, meaning he may remain at Atletico for the next four seasons.
After completing all the formalities, Nico Gonzalez is expected to join Simeone's rank within two weeks.
