Dortmund legend Hummels ended his career this summer and has been an expert commentator on the Champions League broadcast on Amazon Prime Video in Germany since this season. Last night's UEFA Champions League match against Juventus was his TV debut, and he also talked about his feelings about his new job before the game.

At the beginning of the broadcast of Prime Video, Hummels spoke in the locker room: In the past, he was here to boost morale for his teammates to meet important game moments.

Hummels was also happy for the special beginning: "I think the story is very complete. This game, coupled with my last game in Rome, also played in Turin, against Turin FC. Then the curtain call against Juventus, and today's game is the opening game of my new career, which is a very, very successful start."

"This special moment marks the first working day after four months of rest. It's a good summer vacation. Now I'm ready to meet something. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks and months, but I also enjoyed the feeling of doing nothing for a while."

As host Jonas When Friedrich asked him in the locker room where he would sit if he was still playing football in Dortmund, Hummels replied: "I'm not sure anymore, I have to ask Frankie, the equipment administrator. I think that should be the third position, the one Anton is sitting in now."

Interestingly, the new commentary partner also talked about an interesting thing: a piece of cake was placed on a plate in the locker room. Hummels was sure that no player would enjoy the cake again before the kickoff, but he had a clear guess: "I don't think there are still people here to eat the strudel. I think it will be sent to the coach's locker room soon."

In the end, Hummels failed to witness the victory of his old club: Dortmund lost two goals in stoppage time and drew with Juventus 4-4 away.
