Chile international and Turin player Guillermo Maripan was recently charged by a Spanish woman after being reported by the well-known Chilean internet celebrity Carmen Castillo.
According to Chilean media reports, the woman said she had an affair with the player and accused her of behavior of harming her physical, psychological, emotional and economic stability. She revealed that after the breakup, she appeared on social media anonymous accounts spreading her private videos and photos. Malipan flatly denied the allegations, saying that it was purely fabricated.
Malipan wrote on social media: "According to multiple media reports, I have once again become the target of legal litigation, which is exactly the same as before. This is obviously part of the extortion and defamation plan, which aims to obtain economic benefits through illegal means."
Malipan accused Carmen Castillo of withdrawing the lawsuit, requiring players to pay a huge amount of more than 300 million Chilean pesos (about 266,100 euros). The player insisted: "This precedent alone reveals the real motivation for these actions: pursuing money rather than defending any rights."
Carmen Castillo accused Malipan of trying to spread his private videos and repeatedly reiterated the charges. Castillo also publicly supported the Spanish woman on social media and posted a message to express his full support.
