According to the Ass, Miguel Ángel Galán, president of the Association for Sports Transparency and Democracy, has once again initiated the charges, this time targeting La Liga president Tebas.
Garland submitted a document of more than 50 pages to the Spanish High Sports Council, accusing Tebas of leaking confidential information from Barcelona on suspicion of five serious violations. Now, the Spanish government needs to decide whether to submit the allegation to the Sports Administrative Tribunal (TAD), whose sanctions may include the disqualification of Tebas.
Garland said that as chairman of the Association for Sports Transparency and Democracy, he has the responsibility to make the allegation for the interests of Barcelona members and fans. He pointed out that although the Barcelona president issued a statement condemning and reporting the violation, he did not take effective measures to resolve the issue, so he must make charges against the La Liga president's actions.
In addition, Garland also asked Tebas to stop confrontation with Barcelona and Real Madrid. He said Tebas' attitude to devalue the two most important clubs in the world must be stopped immediately. Tebas has worked with Garland in the past and filed lawsuits against Bilar and Rubiales, but now he himself faces new challenges. Garland stressed that his complaints had resulted in the disqualification of Bilal, Rubiales and Rocha, and now Tebas should face similar consequences because his actions are similar to those criticized.
In the crisis caused by the "Olmo case", La Liga and Barcelona exchanged a series of statements. On April 2, La Liga issued a statement saying that Barcelona had violated the rules of financial fairness and pointed out that the Red and Blues did not promptly register 100 million euros of revenue from VIP seats in Camp Nou in its accounts. Five days later, Barcelona issued a statement accusing Tebas of breach of confidentiality obligations and released the data without permission. La Liga subsequently had to delete the statement from its website and other official channels.
Due to this series of statements and follow-up remarks by Tebas on social media and traditional media, Garland accused him of leaking specific operating details of Barcelona, including VIP box sales, audit changes, financial status, and internal reports and communications. The charges specifically stated that there is no evidence that Barcelona had previously disclosed the information, so the statement issued by La Liga was deemed to be an unauthorized disclosure of information, which violated the obligation to keep confidentiality.
In addition, Garland also mentioned that when Terbas met with Bilbao a few months ago, he reviewed his accounts due to Barcelona's attempt to sign Nico Williams, believing that this also violated the obligation to keep confidential.
At present, the ball has been kicked at the feet of the Spanish Senior Sports Council and they must decide whether to submit the allegation to the Sports Administrative Tribunal. It is worth mentioning that in September last year, the Sports Administrative Court issued a public warning to Tebas over similar requests.
